Chess History

My first writing as an adult was for a chess club newsletter. And I gradually expanded from there to other, larger circulation publications. In 1999 I edited and published Delaware Valley Chess, a regional newsletter. From 2001 to 2003 I was contributor to Correspondence Chess News, an online magazine. In 2004 I took over as editor of The Pennswoodpusher, the magazine of the Pennsylvania State Chess Federation, a post I held until 2006.

In addition to the above, I’ve been published in Quarterly For Chess History, California Chess Journal, Georgia Chess, Chess IN Indiana, Iowa Chess En Passant, Illinois Chess Bulletin, The Chess Journalist, Michigan Chess, Texas Knights, and Chess Life. Online my work can be found at The Campbell Report, Chess Cafe, and other websites. Olimpiu Urcan’s biography of Adolph Albin, published by McFarland, includes an introduction I wrote.

Aside from the occasional article I am retired from writing about chess.
